Can you be sure your home is safe?
Overfiftieshouseswap is a mere facilitator and cannot guarantee anything, including the information provided by members in respect of their personal details, contact information and the description of their home listed for exchange. However, by limiting itself to a mature age group and by setting out to attract a community of members with a similar outlook, it is hoped that any potential risk is minimised. The balanced benefit of having house-sitters in-situ during an absence from your home could also have its merits.
When a potential house swap has been identified, the two parties will exchange emails and are encouraged to talk on the 'phone (using a land line). This provides an ideal opportunity to build a relationship of trust. A personal profile provided in the membership details helps the swapees to learn a little about each other, and to set up a rapport.
To ensure an ongoing acceptable high standard Overfiftieshouseswap undertakes a policy whereby should it receive three complaints about the poor condition of a house on its site, or about the standard of care of someone else's home by a swapee, continued registration may be denied. In extreme cases Overfiftieshouseswap reserves the right to cancel house swap membership with immediate effect.
